Daring Dreamers - The First Featured Dreamer!
Daring Dreamers is a blog I created to inspire my readers and myself. It is a reminder that we are all exceptional and unique. We all have the ability to dream. We all have the opportunity to make these dreams come true.
My intention is to interview different people each month who inspire me and ask them these big questions:
Something that I am proud of is publishing my novel, Gypsy Dreams, and unveiling it at my fabulous book launch party on March 8th, 2014. I am proud of it because it is something that I really wanted to create.
I had always had it in my mind while I was growing up, that I wanted to write a book one day. I didn't know what it would be about, but when the inspiration for the story came to me, (by way of a fabulous woman named Chimene who inspired the idea for the main character), I was so excited to think I could actually realize this dream. For me, the process was slow and had many delays and roadblocks. I had young children at the time I had the idea for the novel and was so busy, I couldn't imagine how I would find the time to write. I wasn't sure my dream was practical or worthwhile. But the desire was there and I was supported in many different ways by family, friends and people who came into my life at just the right time. I shared this story in my speech at my book launch party, where I could pay tribute to all the people who made that night possible for me.
What publishing Gypsy Dreams has done for me, is that it made me believe that I can make my dreams come true. It made me feel it is possible to create a life that I love. I didn't feel like I achieved it base on my own power or talent, but on my desire, followed by my action and then by the support of people and forces that came to my aid whenever I needed it. I am changed in that I am a believer. Dreams can come true and even if they change or are modified on the road to realization, it is the journey on the road to achieving a dream that is the real gift. The process made me joyful and excited about my life.
One thing that I would love to do in the future is to create a beautiful and fun retreat weekend for women to help them uncover their own dreams and give them tools to help bring those dreams to life. Will I do it? Absolutley! I know this because, along with Maureen Dobranski, my amazing co-founder of Dream Your Dreams Women's Retreats, we have set the date for our first retreat weekend for September 25th-27th at the beautiful Grand Rockies Resort in Canmore Alberta.
I am so excited about the weekend we have planned for our participants. I know it will be a fun-filled weekend full of discovery, laughter and an opportunity for each woman to have a fabulous experience of herself. My intention is for every participant to leave this retreat feeling rejuvenated, revitalized and excited about her life and the dream(s) she is going to bring to fruition. We will provide tools and continued support for our fellow "daring dreamers" and can't wait to see what they will do!
